The first start was given at 8:15 a.m. this morning in front of the former courthouse on the banks of the Saône. From the very first strides, the city came alive to the rhythm of running shoes and the cheers of the crowd, who turned out in large numbers to support the runners.
The marathon title went to Rouen athlete Mustapha Salmi, who won in 2:23:24 — 32 years after his father’s triumph in the same event. Among the women, local runner Jeanne Garreau shone with a commanding victory, lowering the course record by 6 minutes to 2:43:34.
In the half marathon, Julien Rabaca from Haute-Loire confirmed his dominance by winning the race for the second consecutive year with a time of 1:04:34. On the women’s side, Héloïse Laigle claimed victory with a strong performance of 1:12:24, improving the event record by nearly 3 minutes.
In the 10 km race, Matis Boucard took the win in 30:38 among the men, while Manon Gerard triumphed in 35:57 among the women.
